SHIATZY CHEN

If you are a luxury brand, you have to have a boutique on either Ave Montaigne or Rue St Honore in Paris. * even TUMI has a boutique there!

Yesterday I saw the first Chinese(taiwanese) boutique and was so excited! However I just couldnt make make myself open the door to step in. Walking into it was far more difficult than walking into the cold aloof Cartier & Chanel.

There were no security guards to open the doors. From the exterior, I noticed a huge structure in the middle of the boutique which blocked all the view of the interior.

Talking about chinese fengshui! Isnt that blocking the channel of wealth? * c'est bizarre.

It is indeed successfully exclusive. I asked myself if that is the way to create brand awareness even if Im not their target audience.

Today, we seek artistic ways to attract customers. "La Colette" opposite SHIATZY CHEN has a lifestyle boutique eagerly exhibiting the designer/collectors products to the public. Yes, the number of people who purchased is only a tiny fraction of those who came to appreciate the design and art, but thats not a surprise as a single watch can cost up to ten thousand Euros.

So, why the cold shoulder, Shiatzy Chen?
