It is midnight, I just got home from a dinner @ Chinatown with 7 LV colleagues I knew from the internship. 2 Singaporeans, 1 Taiwanese, 1 Chinese and 2 Japanese plus 1 French.
It was a real pleasure to chat with people like me, who are far away from home. They have been in France longer than me, shortest was 3- and longest 7 years..
We yakked in 4 languages, French, English, Mandarin and Japanese over Peking duck, fried chee chong fun, soft shell crab, mango pudding, orh ni... It was great yummy.
People working in retail always tell me not to work there as it is stressful being stuck between customers and management. They complain that salary is low and they are not motivated. However, when I asked them what if the company decides to base renumeration on commissions, does it motivate them more? They were completely resistant to the idea.
Finally as we were paying for dinner, all of them had food tickets from LV which give them 50% discount to restaurants. It is really not that bad after all. I see why they are still working there after 3 years.

Just checked into the airport - feeling quite groggy, way past my bedtime. Boss is not yet available here in Singapore....
