Sailing Part 1/2

A long weekend came by again! The last one was Easter Day which I spent entirely at home baking apple tart while the french kids search for chocolate eggs in their gardens :(

This time I went sailing in a 8.5 m sail boat named Manapany.

From Saint Malo to Jersey (an island in the English Channel) and back, we covered a total of 90miles.

As Ive no experience in sailing, I took a pill before we set off to prevent sea-sickness. It was a huge mistake which I realised later...

The wind was onshore and we had to zig zag to get out into the sea. I managed to do a few tags under captain ET's instructions ... somehow most of the tags were over-steered and a few landed the boat in the wind. I was stressed when that happened and felt totally stupid for not being able to steer a simple boat properly. Anyway, before I had the chance to practice more, all of a sudden I couldnt concentrate anymore and really had to go to sleep.

In no time, I had a pillow under my neck and was tucked in quilt on the deck and drifted off into dream land for 1 hr.

I was drugged at the wrong time n wrong place. Missed the best part of the sailing trip with the boat going upwind at 6 knots and totally tilted to one side... After which, very sadly, the wind dropped and we couldnt move much and resorted to using the engine.
