Australia Day

Wonder why national day in Singapore doesn't have a more catchy, nationalistic name.
The OZs have the 'Australia Day' and the French, the 'Bastille Day' or 'Quatorze Juillet'.
Even 'Merlion Day' or the 'Singapore Day' will be less boring as a name!

Sunday Telegraph (local newspaper) gives out the Australia Day Hat each year and we got ours too!
Love the drawings depicting how the Oz live in summer; bbq, sun tanning, volley ball, surf, etc.
ET is impressed by how I know about the most happening events in Paris and now in Sydney. Whopee! Im the little miss resourceful :)

Btw, the half priced IMAX tickets I got on gumtree transported us into the magical land of Pandora.
Watching it on the largest IMAX screen in the world, I cant imagine enjoying better effects elsewhere. Pandora was as real as it could get.

Australia Day celebrations @ sydney harbour, 3 parachutists landed in the harbour. Why cant they land on a boat or something instead of the sea? It would have been more technical and spectators, more impressed.
Qantas A380 flying pass the opera house as slowly as it could

Visited the national maritime museum, unfortunately the submarine was closed for viewing and I have to come back again.

Trying not to compare cities as each has their own to offer.... to date, museums and celebration wise, Paris still kicks ass. Otherwise Im totally soaking up mother nature's gift to us down-under, playing the tennis and watching the Australian Open life on tv.

This hat is very cute! Wish they gave us freebies like that too. Ya I also say...just like "Peanuts" is a much better name than Budget Terminal man

I like the name PEANUTS! Budget sounds so lame.
Someone should let the national day organisers know to produce a red and white fisherman hat with lotsa cute pictures.
