Tea tree (ti-tree) lake

Located 15 mins drive north of where we stay is a fresh water tea tree lake- Lake Ainsworth. This photo was taken that othee day when we flew by in the ultralight. On the right of the photo is the Lennox head and the beach spans from there to the left where I couldn't capture as it was too wide. This afternoon I bummed into my kite surf instructor on the beach just like that. He has decided to leave Sydney for this gorgeous region. Such a coincidence, we got him to fix up Et's donkey dick.

Sorry for the side track... Back to the lake. The colour of the lake is tea colour and it is so refreshing to swim in it. I tried to use my goggles but I cant see nothing!
Apparently the lake is permanently discoloured by the tannins from the roots of the tea trees surrounding the lake. I was quite scared of whats in the water but since all the kids were swimming in it happily I was convinced that my fear was unfounded. Funny effect of after swimming there is a tremendous feeling of being energised or shall I say rejuvenated. I think this is a magical lake and I ought to return to it for my tea tree spa as often as I can.
