The magic of camping is that you naturally sleep early and wake up with the first ray of sunlight at dawn. Before 730am we were already packed and out of the park and arrived at our next destination- Douglas Hot Springs.
Before anything, it is breakfast time! French crepes with lavenda strawberry jam and fresh strawberries. :)
Im glad we were there in the early morning as the water from the springs was scorching hot! See the steam from the source?
We hiked downstream to where the hotspring mix with the river, resulting in water of more bearable temperature.
We found a great spot not far from the steaming hot springs.
The water was shallow but perfect for lying down for a therapeutic soak supported by a rock pillow.
I love it so much, where in the world can you be in a natural hot spring where there is no one else around? I quickly filled my heart with all the peace I can replenish from nature.
Et wanted to get back home by noon as he had to fly the next day, and so, that marked the last stop of our 2 day camping trip - effectively 1.5 days! It is not easy being a pilot, so much concentration required when flying that it is exhausting hence rest is of utmost importance. I totally recognise it, by helping out with the majority of the household chores, etc. And ironically only once/ twice (if lucky!) in a month, does he get 2 days off in a row for a proper rest. Not that Im winching, but there must be some kind of "unfairness" going around in this industry...
