Post dated: Weddings Part I

There are 2 kinds of roles one plays when invited to a wedding...
The "helper" or the "celebrant"...

I went back to Singapore specially to attend Vern's wedding in June. Opps very belated post, just got the photo on facebook.
As a "celebrant", it was very fun, had the time to get the couple an unique angbao zipper bag from Beijing, and for myself, a dress in Taobao building in Shanghai and a haircut and mani pedi.

I was seated with my good friends and had the rare chance of catching up. We yak yak yak NONE STOP, stopped for the ppt presentation, speech and toasts, and then yak yak, tucked into the fine chinese dishes and then consumed at least 3 glases the wolf blass wines. yak yak yak... Lionel said Belle and I sounded like birds!

Weddings are such nice places to catch up and ironically, the person you get to speak to least is the bride and groom as the couple had to greet everyone, take photos, change into different costumes, walk-in and out, but of course! they were the stars of the night. I just wonder if they even had the chance to taste the exquisite dishes they ordered...

Ive never thought of putting ETand I through a chinese banquet wedding celebration for selfish reasons that I would be so sad if everyone gets to eat and drink, chat and laugh except myself. And for he, he will be so awkward having to be in the lime light and greeting people. But... I simply love attending Chinese banquet weddings! yum yum cold seafood platter, fresh steam fish, and collagen-filled soup, great catch ups and to share the happiness of the couple.
