A new rule was passed : that all fireworks and crackers can only be set off between 6pm-11pm and fireworks can only be sold on the day itself (1st July). The government is holding on to you by the reins :P
We scooted to Mindil beach, grabbed some gado gado before ET felt too caustrophobic, and sat on the beach waiting for the firework performance to start.
This time we were sitted to the right of the stage ie the Fannie bay side and caught the "independent"ly let off fireworks all along the beaches towards the East point. They were huge too!
There were countless boats anchored in the sea, and one of them let off a flare.I suppose it must be spectacular to watch the fireworks from a boat in the bay.
At 730pm after the PM's speech, the show started!
Bang bang bang for a full 25minutes, and I couldnt get tired of going "Wahhhh!!!"
This time I set my shutter speed such that I dont have to hold myself still (and my breath!) for too long when taking photos. We even managed to enjoy the show hand in hand :) The show is indeed different this year more light hearted and less indigenous, but still as awesome, which makes me look forward to another show next year.
