Staying away from home ground means that birthday wishes are mostly received virtually on facebook/emails/msn/skype and there are fewer physical celebrations. When I was in Singapore, I used to spend 2 weeks celebrating my birthday with friends indulging in restaurants. Now at a ripe age, I am just happy enough when friends/family remember.
It may seem exaggerating each year to say I had the best birthday ever but it seems to be the case. But this year we did not go camping again.
Et brought me on a posh dinner cruise in Darwin. We took a photo while walking down the ramp to the boat, the boat was going to depart at 630pm sharp and we thought we had to be there at 630pm. Thank god we were early!
The walk from our apartment to the wharf was only 10 mins and you can see our unit in this photo! the block on my right.
Et got some bubblies for celebration!!
We went to the deck for a guided tour of Darwin harbour and the guide took a photo for us, but blocked the sunset!
So here is the sunset, was smokey that day but as beautiful!
Dinner was a buffet and without shame I had 8 oysters on my own. Well its not too bad since ET only had 1, as a couple, we did not over shoot our quota!
After dinner, we went to the upper deck to chill out, it was a full moon night and was exceptionally peaceful cruising and watching little Darwin city light up.
Back at home I got my birthday cake! 2 deserts in a row in one night, I was spoilt.
When the cake was served, all the candles were crooked! That was caused by the residual heat in the oven where ET hid his cake! I was laughing as I reassured him it was alright while molding back the candles, for a guy who isn't a fan of planning, he even took the effort to place the candles before hand, I was touched.
