French Wedding @ Ecole Militaire

2 saturdays ago, I had the chance of a lifetime to attend a French military wedding @ Ecole Militaire (a military school in Paris next to Napolean's tomb-Les Invalides).

To be exact, it was the wedding of a navy officer. Imagine being surrounded by men in navy uniforms in a 18th century building, I felt as though I went back in time!
Look at the capitaine in red velvet bonnet. Irresistibly adorable yar!

The perfectly trimmed cone-shape trees in the large garden.... :)

Solemnization was held in a church. I tried my best to sing to the hymns in French but was distracted by all the big hair/hats of the ladies in the hall. Finally, I fell asleep as the ceremony was too draggy!
The bride and groom leaving the church under the swords.

We adjourned to another building for cocktail & dinner.
I love the Effiel tower by night. The powerful beam shinning through the city makes Paris a discotheque by night. Would really love to go up there at night one day.

Dance session commenced with a waltz where the father of the bride & the bride had their first dance after a 3 course dinner... then, the DJs played rock n roll.. which made no difference to me as I only know how to belly dance :P

ET taught me a little on how to do the rock. Said that being able to dance helped him get many gals... I fully understand. He was indeed an impressive dancer but then again, anyone in that uniform is bound to get the gals!!
