Boutique internship @ Champs Elysee

Day 1 of my internship coincides with the opening night of the French Film Festival at Le Forquet's.

Here is a nice view of the restaurant getting ready to receive the celebrities tonight.
Other than attending the store morning brief (in french) and learning about the operations, I managed to reserve a bag for gorgeous. It is frustrating how difficult it seems to get your hands on one of those limited edition items shown during the runway show. Great! Im falling into the marketing trap created by "exclusivity".

For lunch, Cat and I went to Edmond's favourite Lebanese restaurant across George V Hotel. It was indeed the best Lebanese meal Ive ever had. Had a Chawarma and a plate of eggplants while standing. Ended up sharing my eggplants with a franco-lebanese who generously offered me to try his hommos.

It is still amazing how people can be so nice when I speak in french. He even invited me to visit him if I go to Lyon, and I told him to call me when he comes to visit his patients in Paris once a month.

At the end of the day, I went to visit a couple of my classmates interning on Champs Elysee.. mainly Cartier and Mont Blanc. It was bizarre to see them standing at the door greeting customers! Im glad I wasnt made to do that at LV today. However, Ive to turn in a report offering solutions to the store's 2 major challenges, so that could be more time consuming!

When I reached my Metro stop, I saw again people taking photos of my stations which is undergoing renovation. I couldnt bear it anymore, I have to find out why people bring their professional camera to take photos of the dilapidated walls.

This started my 1 hour guided tour cum photo taking session with one of the most gentle & patient french man Ive ever met.
He carefully explained the posters which he deciphers from 1960s- 1980s. Impressive!

Les Sablons has been a bourgeois district and the posters were mainly on electric products and food and movies.

He invited me to take more photos at George V station which was also undergoing renovation, but I turned it down as my poor feet were aching so badly from being on heels. I need to invent something to prevent my feet from sliding towards the front of the shoes when I wear my stockings.

I miss singapore where the weather permits gals to wear heels without stockings.

HL thanks for your advice, one of these days I will go get one of the flowers. They are so sweet and even come in pink!

St Honore is where all the luxury boutiques are. That where I do my market study.

xie xie!
