Last Sunday, 3 year old Arperge passed away due to heart attack. This was a photo of him with David on New Year Eve.
Looking again at this photo I can see why David was so heart broken.
That afternoon when we heard the bad news, we decided to bring a home-baked quiche to have dinner together at his home to cheer him up. At the end, he thanked us with a sad smile and I felt the limit of our consolation effort.
What is the best way to console someone for the loss of a precious companion? Probably I need to experience it in order to better console one... but this is not an experience I am looking forward to. Worse still, I dont even have the courage to put myself in David's shoes and imagine the kind of pain he feels. For Pete's sake, just give us eternity and stop torturing the living!
